About the Organisers

 

Guillaume Lepecq, Conference Chairman

Guillaume Lepecq is a globally recognised expert in the subjects of payments and cash. Working primarily as a consultant over the last fifteen years, Guillaume also worked for Brink’s Europe, Middle-East and Africa (EMEA) as Vice-President of Money Processing where he was responsible for leading the development efforts for integrated money processing solutions for financial institutions and retailers.

Guillaume has been advising financial institutions throughout Europe on their payment strategies. He has been involved in a number of wide-scale projects, such as the euro cash changeover, the migration to EMV cards and the implementation of the Banknote Recycling Framework.

Guillaume has also undertaken extensive research on the role of cash in society and the means by which it flows across the economic landscape including. This has resulted in several publications: “Cash Essentials – Beyond Payments”, “The Future of Cash”, “The Future of Smart Payments” and “Managing the Changeover to the Euro”.

Guillaume is the Chair of Cash Essentials.  

 

John Winchcombe, Conference Director

John Winchcombe has worked with Central Bank Issue and Cash departments since 1988, when he joined De La Rue.  At De La Rue he was Marketing Manager, where he was heavily involved in the technology and design of banknotes, he went on to manage the relationship with the European Central Bank and the UK Banks and ended up as the Currency Marketing and Product Development Director from 2011 until he left in 2015.  Since then he has run the sales operations for CCL Secure and provided consultancy advice to a number of organisations in the cash sector. John is an active contributor to the debate on where cash and payments are moving and is currently consulting on data analytics in the cash industry.
